I just wanted to dedicate this post to all those who have helped us on our journey to being published whether they knew it or not. To Mr. Kozak who started us on this journey by assigning my son the task of writing and publishing a story. To the receptionist at our local veterinary office who didn't turn us away when we were asking questions about canine anatomy. As a matter of fact she let us talk to a vet who loaned us books that we could look at and compare human to canine circulatory systems with! To the teachers at East Marshall School. To friends who gave support, advice and help with stubborn computers when searching for things on the net. For our family who believed in Charlie and never gave up.
I wanted to thank people like Amanda Hocking, Donita K. Paul and most definitely Christopher Paolini. Amanda for showing us that we too can be pubished authors affordably but its still up to us to do the work of getting it known out there.
To Donita K. Paul who showed us with examples that no matter how old you are you can become a published author! Last but not least Christopher Paolini for showing my son that even he, as young as he was, could become an author.
To Mike Donahey who works at the Times Republican in Marshalltown for answering our questions and putting our story in the local paper when we had begun our story and giving us suggestions on who we could contact about getting published. To my husband who believed in us and always told us to "go for it. We will never know what we can do until we try." To my daughter and Son, Angel and James who also supported us in our nutty journey to become authors. I don't know who will all read this but I just wanted to say thank you all for all of your help! the journey is far from over. I feel like we have reached a check point but not the end. So take care everyone and if you too have a dream of becoming an author, remember, never give up and keep trying! Take care and God Bless!
Also thank you to AEA 267 and the people who helped us with the schools and also to Debbie Parker for inviting us to the Montezuma Writers conference! it was really very fun and educational! Loved meeting all the other writers!
